Should I wear my boots riding on my b/f's motorcycle?

My new b/f wants me to go for a ride on his motorcycle and told me that I should wear my tall dress boots. I think maybe he just likes seeing me in my boots but maybe there is a reason to wear them. He wants me to wear my tallest high heel boots. I have a pair of awesome over the knee leather boots with about 3%26quot; heels. Should I wear those?

Should I wear my boots riding on my b/f%26#039;s motorcycle?
hell yes, you%26#039;ll look great
Reply:Where what ever makes you feel comfortable. For safety reasons on a bike. Any shoe or boot is good to wear then a sandal. So that%26#039;s good. But if you don%26#039;t want to wear them then don%26#039;t. But if you think they look hot on you and he likes them too and they are very comfortable then go for it. Have fun.
Reply:Well you should wear leather on a bike for safety reasons. I have riding boots that are just about knee high (although they don%26#039;t have heels) and I wear them just in case. The leather will help protect your skins from burns, and if the bike does go down, it will help protect you from road rash.
Reply:i think you should not wear them because you could -+

get them dirty.i have a pair of boots like them and they get dirty easy!!!!i would wear tennis shoes and bring your boots in a bag of some sort and after you get done riding you could put them on again.im not trying to be mean but boots that pretty need to be worn to a party or if you go to a special occasion.

love kristen m
Reply:You should wear them even if your are not on the motorcycle.... read between the lines of your b/f request.

He%26#039;s turned on by you wearing the boots.

Choosing riding boots???

I%26#039;m new at showing and want to know what tall boots I need to get. I am going to focus on all aspects of showing so I need a pair of boots that are multi purpose and cheap.I will also be starting off with beginner/novice level so I don%26#039;t need any fancy smancy boots.

These are the ones I was thinking about:

Choosing riding boots???
Ok laces are better. And remember they last throughout your riding career. Cheapest and best are around $100-160. Make sure they fit right before your buy them.

Horse riding boots... Why would someone wear tall boots instead of paddock or jodphur boots?

Tall boots just seem like a pain and are expensive. Is there any practical reason for tall boots?

Horse riding boots... Why would someone wear tall boots instead of paddock or jodphur boots?
They keep your pants material still so that your legs aren%26#039;t affected by your pants riding up. But it%26#039;s much more comfortable to wear half chaps instead of tall boots.

I wore tall boots with jeans for a while because I hadn%26#039;t bought half chaps yet. I needed tall boots for showing, but I was still pretty new to the riding thing and hadn%26#039;t gotten half chaps and paddock boots. So I wore my tall boots with jeans when I rode. As soon as I got half chaps, I quit wearing my tall boots. Before shows I always try to slip into my boots and breeches just to get comfortable wearing them again before the show.
Reply:tall boots look better, and are super comfortable. if you don%26#039;t like them ride in them more until the break in, cause at first it will feel weird. tall boots have way better leg protection and are helpful with good body position. i used to ride in paddock boots and love my tall boots. its not much of a hassle to clean them, it never takes more than 3mins, especially if you take care of your horse in other boots.
Reply:Tall boots provide leg protection for a wide range of movement. Friction of equipment can injure legs of a rider without tall boots or some other form of leg protection.
Reply:They protect your legs from rubbing against the saddle.

plus, it looks more formal for competitions, ceremonies, etc.

English riding britches, boots, helmets?

Hi, i used to ride english for 6 years, im 14, the past 2 years i have been riding western but i think im gonna go back to english.

I was wondering what are the best and most affordable riding britches, boots, and a good helmet, since i havent looked for english apparel in a while. Also, any catalogs that are goood for english tack and apparel would be great,

Thanks alot!

English riding britches, boots, helmets?
well for a catalogue, Dover is amazing! Go to their website (i think its www.doversaddlery.com or something like that). they have so much great stuff and you can have them send you a free catalogue in the mail. They also have several stores on the east coast if you live around there which are equally amazing.

For helmets, i love GPAs. they%26#039;re expensive, but well worth the price because they really do protect your head better. I%26#039;m 15 and can fit into the Gimpi, its a little kid version of the GPA. its cute, has really good protection, and is about half the price! i love mine!

But go check out Dover, and you should find everything you need!
Reply:It kind of depends on how serious you%26#039;re going to be with it. If it%26#039;s just going to be a one-lesson-a-week deal, then you can find helmets and half-chaps relatively cheap. Troxel makes riding helmets that work out well for these things. If you are going to be doing serious riding, maybe you should invest in something a little sturdier and professional-looking. Yes, it will be more expensive, but worth it in the long run. I have a pair or Tredstep half chaps that I adore; I%26#039;ve had them for over two years now with no problems at all. The same goes for my IRH helmet. Both cost a fair amount, but are perfect for me and my riding. My Ariat zip paddock boots have been a dream.

Just make sure you do your research. Sometimes it%26#039;s better to pay more to make sure everything fits you perfectly--it%26#039;s better than wearing your helmet in an unsafe way because it hurts (or not wearing it at all!)

State Line tack is very good for these items, as is Dover Saddlery. When in doubt, find a local tack shop just to try things on. They can tell you whether things really fit, or if they just feel nice.

Good luck!
Reply:you can often find an English Rider Starter Package for around a $100 that has a helmet, boots, half chaps and then a pair of schooling breeches would be about 30$ish.

I can%26#039;t think of the sites that has this though, google should bring it up.

Smartpakequine.com is a good site I don%26#039;t like Dover, horse.com is good too
Reply:Check in the Dover catalogs state line tack and e-bay are good places tack swaps and yard sales selling horse stuff good luck
Reply:Stateline Tack which is now owned by Country Supply. Dover Saddlery has some great buys. Libertyville Saddle Shop is another one and there are a lot more. You could also try eBay but be careful as you may not be able to return something if it does not fit. Read the fine print carefully.

Devon Aire has some good clothes, but I don%26#039;t like the fit, but they are reasonable. There is also Tuff Rider and a few others.

You might also find some good used items from the local Pony Club if there is one in your area. You should check the Pony Club website for information.
Reply:Look on Ebay or you could browse through Robinson%26#039;s country and leisure online - don%26#039;t actually know if they sell in the states but it may give you some ideas.
Reply:Dover puts out a nice catalog and is online. Also State Line Tack. I think for things you are going to wear, it%26#039;s really best to try them on in person. You could always write down what you liked best then look for it cheaper online if you want to save some money. You need an ASTM-SEI certified helmet. Once they pass that, one%26#039;s just as good as another, it%26#039;s just what feels better on your head and how much you want to spend (you%26#039;ll never catch me paying $250 for a helmet!). If it%26#039;s only been 2 years, your old helmet probably still fits.
Reply:on this website you will find everything that you need! its in categorys so prices are easy to find and all tack/apparel/supplies are available in the US and Canada :)

good luck and hope you have fun with english again!;)
Reply:state line tack have a reasonable range, they have a good website and catalogue.

ebay always has stuff
Reply:Well i have a tippory helment and it%26#039;s great comfy and affordable

Ello. I'm in desprate need of new riding boots (horse riding boots to be more exact)?

I only ride. I do a little trotting , but not much.

What do you suggest?

PLEASE NOTHING ONLINE, unless it can be bought online AND in a store.

In my old one of my old boots the zipper is blown and I can%26#039;t seem to pull it down. My pliers are broken because if it. :o

Ello. I%26#039;m in desprate need of new riding boots (horse riding boots to be more exact)?
and... go buy a pair
Reply:go to your local tack or consignment shop. devon aire are good, as are ariats. i have had my paddock height araits for 4-5 years, and they are still my favorites (western riding). for people, check your yellow pages. or search online with your zip code and check.
Reply:Well, do you ride English or Western? What are you looking to spend? Look under %26#039;Tack Shops%26#039;

Most good Boot and shoe repair shops can fix or replace the zipper.

Devon Aire, Effingham and Dehner%26#039;s are good for English...Also, if you%26#039;d like to avoid breaking in a new pair, try a consignment shop.

Western riding boots?

what kind of boots do you ride in and why? is a certain kind of boot better than another? do you prefer lace up or slip on?

sorry so many questions, my friend and I want to know.

Western riding boots?
I agree Ariat is the best. I have a pair of lace ups....I love them and wear them all the time. However, when teaching my 4 H kids what is proper and safe I had to wear my slip-ons. I don%26#039;t mind them and they are safest, I just like my lace-ups better.

My slip-ons are Sander%26#039;s but I%26#039;m not sure if they are made anymore, I%26#039;ve worn Justin%26#039;s, Ariat, and Double H. At the time each was most comfy. But love my Sander%26#039;s and Ariats most.

Good luck.
Reply:ARIATS!! (zipup!)
Reply:I ride in lace ups. I have a pair of Laredo lace ups that feel almost like tennis shoes.
Reply:I love Laredo the best, theyre really good quality, and lasts for a long time and really comfortable once you break the leather. I prefer slip ons better because its less time consuming and if you ever have a horse emergency, no use waisting time on shoe laces!
Reply:ariat- they%26#039;re really comfy

stay away from Phat Babies or Phat Boys or whatever they%26#039;re called. they are wide and get stuck in the stirrups. yep i know people to whom%26#039;s thats happened. it%26#039;s a saftey issue.
Reply:My favorite boot is the Justin Bay Apache lacer. Unfortunately no stores carry them near me. So I am stuck wearing Ariat lacers. I don%26#039;t think the Ariat%26#039;s last as long as the Justin%26#039;s, nor are they as comfortable for me.

I wear lacers because I need the ankle support.

Ariat has come out with ProBaby, with the wider toe like the Fat Baby, just with a smoother sole for safe riding.
Reply:I like Justin ropers. but that is my opinion
Reply:there are some kind-of re-designed 4-LR fat babies from ariat....i got some really comfortable ones from my local TSC for 89 bucks (10 bucks of for 4H discount)...they were slip-on bomber leather bottoms with a light pink top. I know a few other people that have them, and agree that they have had no problems. the only time the boots stuck for me was in my english saddle, when i wasn%26#039;t wearing the right boots. These are very comfortable, but if you don%26#039;t want the fat babies most ariats are great boots!

***the last time I bought boots before these new ones was 4 years ago, and the old ariats still haven%26#039;t worn out!
Reply:There is nothing wrong with fat babies, except their width may cause your foot to get hung up. I have a pare of Anderson Beans, and when I put them on brand new it was like putting on an old broke in pair, they are excellent!!! I can tell you not to buy Tony Llamas, I had a pair and they hurt my feet for over three months before they were broke in, and then they just broke-got a hole on the side of them. I would highly recommend Anderson Beans, but if you need to purchase something a little cheaper I would go with a good pair of Justin boots, any kind, they are all usually pretty comfy.
Reply:I like Ariats or Justin crepe soles but I tend to wear the crepe out very quickly. I prefer slip on or zippers as I%26#039;m incompetent and can%26#039;t tie laces to where they stay tied and I hate it when they either get wet or snap.

Currently wearing Ariats and I like the metal arch supports, feet don%26#039;t feel so heavy and tired.
Reply:I love Ariats and I prefer slip on%26#039;s.
Reply:hmmm well i usually get cowboy boots cuz those are easier and dont come untied however i do wear lace ups when its muddy cuz sometimes the mud sucks your boots off!!!
Reply:I would recommend lace up boots for everday riding and the slip on boots for if you are showing mostly because slip ons tend to come in more colors and styles. I think the lace ups are more comfortable.
Reply:well my friend weres the fat babys in the arabian show s and so do i ! so you should were something comfty and styleish
Reply:I donot recomed ariats for western, don%26#039;t get me wrong, they are cute and comfy and GREAT for english, but Justins, Tony Lama etc. are great for western. I rodeo, so I only wear Justins since they ae a MAJOR sponsor!!!
Reply:I%26#039;m not really familiar with western riding boots, but you might try ropers. I had a pair of ropers cowboy boots for ages, and they were amazingly comfortable and held up very well. For any kind of boot I need that doesn%26#039;t have to be English I get ropers

I was wondering if there are any disadvantages with having rubber horse riding boots against leather boots????

I was just wondering if rubber horse riding boots have a disadvantage over leather boots, see I%26#039;m interested in buying a pair of tall boots, but I don%26#039;t know the disadvantages, could somebody please tell me if there are any.

I was wondering if there are any disadvantages with having rubber horse riding boots against leather boots????
not really.

leather ones look cleaner

but my friends ride in ones with a plastic covering

the only thing is leather ones the zipper on the back can break and they take a while to wear in

What are kids sizes 2-7 for riding boots? Are they really really small or are they bigger than kids size 13?

Tall riding boots for kids are sizes 2-7 but im not sure if these are SUPER small or the ones that are whole sizes

What are kids sizes 2-7 for riding boots? Are they really really small or are they bigger than kids size 13?
I am guessing it means whole sizes, which is bigger than a size 13. My one year old is wearing a size 6 now (the small ones), and I can%26#039;t imagine a size 2 (small size) boot! They would be ridiculously useless, since that is newborn size. So I really think they would be like a women%26#039;s size 2 and up to size 7. After size 13 childrens, it goes to size 1 womens.
Reply:Yes, they are bigger than a 13 - for some strange reason small kids shoes go to size 13 then it starts back at 1 in small adult sizes

What to wear with flat brown riding style boots?

i fell in love with this pair of Brown, chunky doctor martin%26#039;s, they are quite like riding boots style, but i am not sure what to wear with them? any ideas?

Reply:I%26#039;ve never seen this style of Doc Martins before. Are they lace-up or buckle fastening. Or perhaps pull-on?

I%26#039;d wear them with jeans or leggings if I were you. Don%26#039;t mix them with skirts or dresses.
Reply:gold satin blouse and a silky skirt and a long flowing cape
Reply:Your Birthday Suit.
Reply:masculine tailoring is in so get a sharp jacket.stella mccartneys are great.or a cheaper option is to look around a shops and take it to the tailor. then tuck i your fav jeans in the boots.
Reply:If I%26#039;m thinking of the boots of Doc. Martin%26#039;s then anything would go... Wear straight legged jeans and a nice top. The boots are casual... Don%26#039;t worry about it.
Reply:Riding boots should be worn with riding clothing. Tan jodhpurs or newer stretch breeches with suede strapping on the inner thighs are good with brown boots. A hunt shirt in vyella and a silk stock are proper. The shirt can be white or yellow with brown boots. A waistcoat of yellow melton or a cream one with green and rust tattersall checks are good with brown. A hacking jacket in brown tweed and a brown velvet melon cap complete the look. Jeans don%26#039;t go with much of anything. Certainly not brown riding boots.
Reply:jeans .shorts with your fav t-shirts
Reply:Just panties and a bra....your look hot?!

How do i break in my riding boots fast?

i just got a new pair of fox motocross boots and im goin riding for thanxgiving tommorow

and i caint shift very well...

how would i break them in fast??

How do i break in my riding boots fast?
wear them around the house like Barry M said. Thats about it. He had the answer correct.....
Reply:Walking around the house takes too long. Put your bike on the stand, stand on the pegs and alternate between standingon your tip toes, then your heal. roate your ankle to the extents when you do it. This uses your whole body weight to really work in the ankle area. After a few minuts you are good to go and you didn%26#039;t need to spend all day walking around the house.
Reply:Thanks givin was yesterday so yer boots are probably better now but if not take a rubber mallet and slightly bash your boots at the pints where to snugon you .... or just ride.
Reply:You can%26#039;t shift very well because you are not use to them yet. Put them on and wear them around the house for a couple of hours and when you get them muddy take the inner boot out and wash it and the rest of the boot was with a outside water hose and brush with soap and spray WD-40 on the latches. You will be fine.
